Police advice: Door-to-door callers

People in West Oxfordshire are being warned about a man who has visited houses claiming to be from Thames Water. The man calls at houses asking for the postcode and telephone number saying that Thames Water are undertaking work in the next few weeks. He also asks permission to take a photograph of the property. Thames Water has been contacted and denies that this man works for them or that work is being carried out.

If you do get callers professing to be from a utility or other company, ALWAYS ASK FOR ID. If you are still not happy, call the police or the company they claim to be from. Whatever you do, DO NOT INVITE THEM IN  or GIVE THEM INFORMATION  until you are satisfied you have established their true identity.
