I am all for supporting the local area in any way you can and this is to be the first of, I hope, a number of ideas for what you can do and where you can go in the area – some ideas will be aimed more at you grownups out there and some for the younger people in our village…
Number One: Cotswold Lager

Some 11 miles and half an hour of driving will get you to Foscot where you will find The Cotswold Brewing Company.
I enjoyed a very interesting visit here last year with friends where we were treated to some excellent lager tasting and given a tour of the lager brewing process by Rick whose place this is. Found at the end of a small lane and inside a rather lovely large barn you would never know this thriving business was there at all!
My first introduction to Cotswold Lager was by a fellow Cotswold Warden and she gave me my first half pint at The Tite Inn in Chadlington http://www.titeinn.com. But I am very pleased to say that you can find this lager on draft at our very own The Crown in Church Enstone! Forget that expensive imported un-eco-friendly imported lager and go for something local. It really has an excellent taste and you will be pleasantly surprised!
